近年来文莱所遭受灾害记录在册的基本都是洪水，主要有：
2018年6月的洪水。暴雨和雷阵雨导致低洼地区山洪暴发，许多道路受到影响。
2017年12月的洪水和山体滑坡。热带风暴“启德”造成暴雨和强风，在文莱全国范围内引发山洪暴发和山体滑坡。都东区是受灾最严重的地区，水深近49厘米，造成居民区受到破坏。政府救助了94名灾民。
2014年1月的洪水。持续降雨造成都东区洪水泛滥，并导致山体滑坡。约5847人和1026间房屋受到影响，51人被迫撤离。
2010年1月的洪水。暴雨导致首都斯里巴加湾市发生洪灾。
2009年1月的洪水。暴雨造成首都斯里巴加湾市被严重破坏，导致两名妇女死亡。
