自1987年起，马来西亚经济连续10年保持8%以上的高速增长。1998年受亚洲金融危机的冲击，经济出现负增长。2008年下半年以来，受国际金融危机影响，经济增长放缓。2019年政府提出“2030年宏愿”，把缩小贫富差距、创建新型发展模式、推动马来西亚成为亚洲经济轴心作为三大主要目标。
2019年，国内生产总值约3366亿美元，人均国内生产总值约10301美元，国内生产总值增长率4.3%。

It has a tropical rain forest climate. The average annual temperature in inland mountainous areas is 22 ~ 28 ℃, and that in coastal plains is 25 ~ 30 ℃.
Since 1987, Malaysia's economy has maintained a rapid growth rate of more than 8% for 10 consecutive years. In 1998, affected by the Asian financial crisis, the economy showed negative growth. Since the second half of 2008, affected by the international financial crisis, economic growth has slowed down. In 2019, the government put forward the "2030 ambition", taking narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor, creating a new development model and promoting Malaysia to become the economic axis of Asia as the three main goals.
In 2019, the GDP is about 336.6 billion US dollars, the per capita GDP is about 10301 US dollars, and the GDP growth rate is 4.3%.
