文莱由婆罗洲岛西北侧的两小块领土组成，由于位置特殊，文莱不易发生地震、火山爆发和台风等自然灾害，主要灾害有洪水、山体滑坡、森林火灾和烟霾、雷暴和强风等，其中洪水和滑坡最为普遍，洪水多发地区也多有滑坡风险。有记录的山体滑坡灾害发生在2007、2008和2009年，造成道路阻塞，但没有人员伤亡。文莱的自然灾害风险低，风险和脆弱性评估也非常低。2014年的大洪水带来巨大的破坏，使得政府计划疏浚几条关键河道。地震和飓风在文莱并不常见，没有因地震造成重大灾害的记录。1992年和2005年，文莱经历了一些4~5级的小地震，但不在震中区域。
Brunei is composed of two small territories in the northwest of Borneo island. Due to its special location, Brunei is not prone to natural disasters such as earthquake, volcanic eruption and typhoon. The main disasters include flood, landslide, forest fire, haze, thunderstorm and strong wind. Among them, flood and landslide are the most common, and there are many landslide risks in flood prone areas. Recorded landslides occurred in 2007, 2008 and 2009, causing road congestion, but no casualties. Brunei has low natural disaster risk and very low risk and vulnerability assessment. The great flood in 2014 brought great damage, making the government plan to dredge several key rivers. Earthquakes and hurricanes are not common in Brunei, and there is no record of major disasters caused by earthquakes.
