为加强露天煤矿汛期边坡管理工作，切实防范化解边坡风险隐患，坚决遏制各类边坡事故发生，山西省应急管理厅（山西省地方煤矿安全监督管理局）从6月至7月底，组织省、市、县煤矿安全监管部门对全省正常生产建设露天煤矿开展边坡管理专项检查，重点检查边坡管理、边坡监测、防排水等内容。

对检查中发现露天煤矿边坡失稳的，要立即下达从危险区域撤出作业人员的指令；发现存在边坡角、帮坡角、台阶高度、平盘宽度不符合要求的，要限期调整治理，并严厉处罚；发现存在采剥失调仍冒险蛮干的，要从严从重处理处罚。
