（马尼拉综合讯）菲律宾过去两周接连发生爆炸案后，当局提高警惕，在首都马尼拉部署更多警力和爆炸物处理专人。

菲律宾警方周二（5月31日）宣布，由于棉兰老岛过去两周发生多起爆炸案，全国将进入最高警戒状态。

由于马尼拉选举期持续至6月8日，因此全面戒备状态还未放松。警方在马尼拉派遣更多警力、K9警犬和爆炸物处理人员。 

 警方透露，马尼拉市区内目前没有袭击威胁，但为了避免发生事故，警方将加紧马尼拉各大交通站和其他人群密集区域的安全措施。

警方将定期检查所有交通站点、主要交通干道、公共场所和其他聚集地。

菲律宾国家警察负责人达瑙呼吁民众积极配合，并希望民众及时通报任何可疑人物或物品。他说：“我们将对巴士以及大型交通系统的乘客进行抽样检查，希望大众能够理解。”

上周，棉兰老岛南哥打巴托省（South Cotabato）和苏丹库达拉省（Sultan Kudarat）分别发生两起巴士爆炸案，造成至少两人受伤。

巴西兰省（Basilan）周一的爆炸案也导致两人受伤。

Manila - More police and explosive ordnance disposal officers have been deployed in the Philippine capital Manila on heightened alert following a series of bombings over the past two weeks. 

Philippine police announced on Tuesday that the country was on its highest state of alert due to a series of bombings in Mindanao over the past two weeks. 

As the election period in Manila continues until June 8, the state of full alert has not been relaxed. Police deployed more officers, K9 dogs and explosive ordnance disposal officers in Manila. 

Police said there was no threat of attacks in downtown Manila, but that security would be tightened at major transit stations and other crowded areas in the city to avoid incidents. 

Police will regularly check all traffic stops, major roads, public places and other gathering places. 

Philippine National Police chief Danau called on the public to cooperate and report any suspicious people or items. "We will conduct sample checks on the passengers of buses and large transport systems and hope the public can understand," he said. 

Last week, at least two people were injured in two separate bus bombings in Mindanao's South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat provinces. 

Two people were also injured in Monday's blast in Basilan province.
